My Neighbor's Eco-Friendly Kitchen Remodel
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 My neighbor Cathy, one of the owners of Olio United, did an amazing kitchen remodel in the old house they bought around the corner from me. I was lucky enough to watch the remodel in progress since I live so close and had many opportunities to stop in.
Cathy has incredible taste and make the kitchen look great while also making it more open, easy to use, and of course eco-friendly. She had custom cabinetry made that "floats" off the floor for an ultra-cool look, used color & resin injected OSB board for the countertops, installed cork on the floors, and put in a fun backsplash with round, handmade glass tiles.
Read more about the process, the materials (including where to get them) and the sustainable practices used to create this kitchen on the Olio United blog.

Unfortunately Olio United is no longer in business, but one of the owners, Cathy McMurray, has another site where she features her artwork at Habitat of Art - http://habit-of-art.blogspot.com/
